England is a country that is part of the United Kingdom. It shares land borders with Scotland to the north and Wales to the west. The Irish Sea lies northwest of England and the Celtic Sea lies to the southwest. England is separated from continental Europe by the North Sea to the east and the English Channel to the south. The country covers much of the central and southern part of the island of Great Britain, which lies in the North Atlantic; and includes over 100 smaller islands such as the Isles of Scilly, and the Isle of Wight. ●▬●♀۞♔♚♕ ۞♂▬▬●

Sarbatoarea Pastelui in Anglia este una dintre cele mai mari sarbatori ale anului. Aceasta sarbatoare consta in diferite obiceiuri, folclor si mancaruri traditionale. Totusi, Pastele in Marea Britanie dateaza dinainte de crestinism. Multi teologi cred ca Pastele provine de la zeita rasaritului si a primaverii – Eostre. In Marea Britanie, Pastele are loc in perioade diferite ale anului. In timpul sarbatorii pascale scolile din Anglia sunt inchise pentru doua saptamani, indeajuns timp pentru copii sa digere toata ciocolata. In Vinerea dinaintea Pastelui, crestinii comemoreaza crucifierea lui Iisus Hristos. Este o zi de rugaciune la biserica. In limba engleza Vinerea Mare este numita „Good Friday”. Acest lucru poate parea bizar, dar unii oameni sunt de parere ca in trecut a fost numita Ziua Domnului ( in limba engleza „God’s Friday” sau „Holy Friday”). Ouale de Paste sunt o traditie foarte veche care dateaza dinainte de crestinism. Ouale pana la urma sunt un simbol al primaverii si vietii. Schimbul si consumul oualelor de Paste este un obicei popular in multe tari. In Marea Britanie, erau folosite oua adevarate inainte sa fie inlocuite de ouale de ciocolata. Ouale erau fierte si vopsite in diferite culori si modele. Culorile traditionale aprinse reprezentau lumina si primavara. Din pacate, astazi daca oferi un ou fiert de Paste unui copil, cel mai probabil o sa ti-l arunce in fata! O alta veche traditie in Marea Britanie este cea a oualelor care se rostogolesc de pe un deal. Oul care nu se sparge castiga. Chiar si in zilele noastre in Nordul Angliei, se mai practica aceasta traditie. Astazi, oameni ofera de Paste, oua de ciocolata, de obicei umplute cu dulciuri. Iepurasul de Paste Iepurii au fost intotdeauna un simbol al fertilitatii. Iepurasul de Paste, in mod straniu isi are originile in Germania, unde a fost mentionat pentru prima data in scrierile din secolul 16. Primul iepuras de Paste a aparut in Germania in jurul anilor 1800, si a fost fabricat din aluat si zahar. In Anglia, copiii cred ca daca sunt cuminti, iepurasul de Paste le va aduce oua de ciocolata. ●▬●♀۞♔♚♕ ۞♂▬▬●

Aaah, cât ador Anglia pentru eleganța lor, aici au fost născute multe din rochiile vechi pe care le ador iar cultura este genială, păcat că unii din Români au făcut o imagine foarte proastă despre noi, ca în oricare altă țară.

Gloucestershire Gloucestershire (/ˈɡlɒstərʃər/ (listen) /-ʃɪər/ (listen) abbreviated Glos) is a county in South West England. The county comprises part of the Cotswold Hills, part of the flat fertile valley of the River Severn and the entire Forest of Dean. The county town is the city of Gloucester and other principal towns and villages include Cheltenham, Cirencester, Kingswood, Bradley Stoke, Stroud, Thornbury, Yate, Tewkesbury, Bishop's Cleeve, Churchdown, Brockworth, Winchcombe, Dursley, Cam, Berkeley, Wotton-under-Edge, Tetbury, Moreton-in-Marsh, Fairford, Lechlade, Northleach, Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stonehouse, Nailsworth, Minchinhampton, Painswick, Winterbourne, Frampton Cotterell, Coleford, Cinderford, Lydney and Rodborough and Cainscross that are within Stroud's urban area. Gloucestershire borders Herefordshire to the north-west, Worcestershire to the north, Warwickshire to the north-east, Oxfordshire to the east, Wiltshire to the south, Bristol and Somerset to the south-west, and the Welsh county of Monmouthshire to the west. The current Gloucestershire County Council area does not have the same geographical boundaries as the historic county. Some northern parts of the county, including Long Marston and Welford-on-Avon, were transferred to Warwickshire in 1931. Following the Local Government Act 1972, some southern parts of the county were transferred for administrative purposes to the new county of Avon, which ceased to exist on 1 April 1996. After 1996, the city of Bristol and South Gloucestershire became separate unitary authorities. Gloucestershire is a historic county mentioned in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle in the 10th century, though the areas of Winchcombe and the Forest of Dean were not added until the late 11th century. Gloucestershire originally included Bristol, then a small town. The local rural community moved to the port city (as Bristol was to become), and Bristol's population growth accelerated during the industrial revolution. Bristol became a county in its own right, separate from Gloucestershire and Somerset in 1373. It later became part of the administrative County of Avon from 1974 to 1996. Upon the abolition of Avon in 1996, the region north of Bristol became a unitary authority area of South Gloucestershire and is now part of the ceremonial county of Gloucestershire. In July 2007, Gloucestershire was subject to some of the worst flooding in recorded British history, with tens of thousands of residents affected. The RAF conducted the largest peacetime domestic operation in its history to rescue over 120 residents from flood-affected areas. The damage was estimated at over £2 billion.
