The count of Monte Cristo este un film adaptat al romanului francez Le comte de Monte-Cristo, scris de scriitorul francez Alexander Dumas - tatal -, ce a scris romanul Les Trois Mousquetaires. Filmul facut de americani, prezinta povestea de viata a lui Edmond Dantes (Jim Caviezel), un tanar de rand, analfabet, care este prin in niste jocuri periculoase de putere si trimis pe insula-fortareata Château d'If, unde va sta in jur de 18 ani inchis, invatand de la Abbé Faria (Richard Harris) cum sa citeasca, sa se dueleze si multe altele, dar cea mai importanta dintre toate, rabdarea pentru a se razbuna... Logica te va duce de la A la Z.
